39 weeks and counting...

39 weeks and counting.
Lost the mucus plug yesterday. Measuring 41.5 weeks, 3 cm dilated. Two midwives say this baby  is big with a large head. Hopefully next post will be her birth.

Slam Bam No Thank You Ma am.

I was funneling my little ones through our bed time routine. Abigayle and Abrianna had been bathed and dressed for bed.
Lucas' turn. Little sister tried to follow him. So he turned around and slammed the hall door... on her fingers. Her ear splitting shrieks where a good indication something was REALLY wrong.
She tore across the room towards me holding out her little hand, with the index finger bent the wrong direction. It looked like a bad cartoon where the characters appendage match what had smashed it. ( Shudder!)
Daddy heard the shrieking. He came out and began to repeatedly tell Lucas in no uncertain terms that the doors where NEVER to be slammed again. EVER.
What noise. Abigayle shrieking, Lucas crying, Rick with raised voice. "Okay people, we need the crying to stop and shoes on. Everybody to the car right now!" "I need little people buckled immediately and on your best behavior!" Out to the van we trooped.
At ER we were shown to a room quickly. But that's where the promptness ended. By the time the x-ray tech was able to come and take pictures the swelling had straightened her finger and she'd stopped crying.
The Dr. said that I need to watch to see if it looks odd or she doesn't use it correctly when the swelling goes down. If that's the case we need to go to her regular Dr. for another x-ray to rule out cartilage damage.
We are all counting our blessings that her little bones wheren't broken. Thank you God.
The rest of the night was rough for Abigayle and momma. 4 hours on the nose as the medication wore off she would wake up crying and saying "owie! owie!"
Today she's bending her finger but not really using it. Guess I'll have to wait and see what will happen...

Bennington Lake Memorial Weekend.

Her little buddy, whom went for a ride clutched in hand. When we made it to the canal she fashioned a make shift boat and it went for multiple ride. Daddy finally convinced her it would be happier set free. Hopefully it survived the loving.

Her baby had to ride with her too. Notice the clutched fist. Rolly Polly was in there.

They wanted to pretend fish.

Look at the doggy!

Who played fetch with Lucas.

Snack break at the bench.

Not sure if he was pointing at the boat of the bird diving for fish.

Trying to keep her pant legs dry while wading across.

So much fun to throw rocks and splash her brother in time out.

She wanted to ride bike too.

Cold water for splashing.

Beauty and airplanes

Tucked into the speaker...

Lining the back of the toilet.

My oldest girl loves beauty. My table has been loaded with iris's. She has taken several containers to her daddy's office. Now I find them tucked into the speaker and lining the back of the toilet.  She loves beauty.
She has also been showing consideration for others. Amber was over for a play date this morning. Abrianna came out laden down with three cups of water. One for her, one for me, and one for Amber. Just because...

A month ago we made a plane trip to CA and back. I reminded Abigayle of that a few times. Now airplanes are her favorite thing. She gets so excited when seeing anything remotely resembling an airplane. She created a tower of Lego's proudly and excitedly proclaiming, "Airplane! Airplane!"

6 years ago my life changed forever as the doctor lifted a squalling baby boy from my womb.  Oh, I was so ecstatic to finally become a mommy. I couldn't bear to lay him down. Then next day when he was released from the NICU I held and nursed him all night long. What a precious little bundle he was.

6 Years later, this is how our morning started. A fitting welcome of hot air balloons lazily floating over our house and landing in the drag strip around the corner.

That little cupcake was crowded with candles. He spent all afternoon riding his bike and having dust wars with friends at the bike track. We came home for a pizza and some presents. Happy Birthday Son.

Little sister discovered her climbing skills. Up and down and up and down she climbed on the poles.

She LOVES babies! Annabelle didn't appreciate the loving as much as Abigayle loved loving on her.
