An evening in the backyard part 2

Here Lucas is giving "Light Queen" a ride and swim together.

Didn't get a great picture of him "swimming". Nevertheless, there he is.

An evening in the back yard

It seems to be around 7:00 when I finally take my children outside. The sprinklers are running by then.
Here Lucas is drinking like Jasper -our dog. I wanted to get a picture of both of them drinking simultaneously but didn't succeed.

Here's Abrianna enjoying her fist. That's quite a normal:) Lucas was playing with his "light queen" (lightening mcqueen). Notice its in all of his pictures. He gave him rides on his tractor. By the way he can peddle that tractor forwards and backwards.

job update

Hello All,

Rick's interview went well today. He was there from 2:30 - 4:45. They said they'll let him know by a week from Thursday. I guess we'll keep hoping and praying.

Abrianna's dedication

We had Abrianna dedicated last Sabbath. It was classic. First she burped up all over herself while we were up front. Then Lucas squirmed and made noises trying to get down and away. Lastly when Rick went to take Abrianna back from Pastor Carey he accidentally grabbed Pastors' tie along with Abrianna. Needless to say, I hid in the mothers room for the remainder of the service.
Pastor also asked for special prayer that Rick would find a job in the area so we can stay.

Thank You God!

Abrianna has barely burped up all day! I've been praying about this. We've been through a 2 week stint of upset tummy. I cut out all soy and voila' tummy pains are gone! Such an answer to my prayers.

Potty training, bare buns and Correy Combine

The Story Behind :P the picture: I was giving Lucas his bath when Abrianna woke up from her nap, loudly declaring her desperate need to be picked up and to join the fun. After helping Lucas from the tub, we proceeded to the kids room to dress Lucas. He was standing on the futon talking about peeing. I told him he'd better not. That pee was for the potty or the diaper but not on anything else. Too late. Notice the pee marks on the futon? I grabbed a diaper so part of it ended up where it was supposed to be. I told him that if he finished peeing on the toilet that he'd get a treat. Now he was motivated! He insisted he would force more pee out and into that potty chair! While he was still trying, I heard a combine running in the field behind our house. "Quick, Lucas there's a Correy Combine. go look out the back window"Off he tore -part of the potty chair in tow. I later discovered he wet the other side of the futon as well.

battle scars

Lucas' first burns with blisters. He got against a very hot heater.
We knew he'd gotten burned. When asked where his ouch he told us his finger. That's where we put the cold water. He kept an ice pack on it for about an hour or more.

Please Pray

Hello All,

There is a glimmer of hope! We may be able to stay here. Rick has an interview with the City of Walla Walla next week for an engineering position. I'm not going to hold my breathe. I want to stay here. Please pray that we'll be able to follow God's will. Whatever that may be...

Jefferson Park Pool

Playgroup met at the Jefferson Park Pool this week. Rick braved being the only guy there. We were glad he did.
Lucas doesn't appreciate water in his face or ears ( takes after his mommy).
Abrianna didn't like being splashed anywhere. She was getting to the point of not crying about it by the time we left.
We need to do this more often. Lucas is becoming braver all the time.

Don't Splash ME!!

This isn't too bad...

Lucas and Daddy Swimming

Lucas wasn't too sure about this big and cold pool.
At first he cried and hung onto Daddy.

Then he was a little braver... Moving away from Dad.

Splashing Tim and "little" Peter was fun!

Thanks for sharing the pool with us,

Tim , Laura, and Peter.

Abrianna's first fourth of July

My Beautiful Patriotic Daughter

She looks like she's singing here :-)

Lucas' parking lot

Lucas made a "parking lot" out of my oven rack.

Here he's playing with his airplane. He was telling me about flying in a big plane to Minnesota to see his Grandma Tine. He asks daily to go. We won't be leaving until the 31st.
Rick says this picture looks like a "precious moment" figurine.

update on my children

Hi everyone,

Lucas doesn't have strep throat! Yeah! He has hand, foot, and mouth disease. Its a common childhood virus that's very contagious. Its characterized by a fever followed by a rash on the hands, feet and in the mouth. Oh, and also a sore throat.
It isn't serious and very hard not to pass it along. Sorry Laura and Tiffany. He was contagious for several days before he spiked a fever.
The only treatments are Tylenol or something to numb the back of the throat.
He did run a high fever for awhile. It was a 103.3. So if anybodies kids get a fever....

Wednesday, July 2, 2008

Lucas ran a fever yesterday. It peaked out at 103.3. He hasn't been running a fever today. He's been cranky like he hasn't felt well. I think he may be running a low grade fever now.
He's complained 4 or 5 times about his teeth hurting. He's tried to wipe his mouth out with a napkin when he "teeth are hurting".
I decided to take a look. He has swollen glands, pus on his tonsils and red spots on the roof of his mouth and throat. I called the on-call pediatrician. He thinks Lucas has strep throat.
I'm taking him to the doctor tomorrow. Poor little guy :(
Hopefully he's better so we can see everybody by Sabbath. I think this will probably be another no tacos Friday night- sigh.

Chubby baby

Look at my chubby thighed little girl
She's certainly getting to the cuter stage now.

Both of my precious kids together.

What blue eyes she has.

I put on the floor over the boppy pillow just after this picture was taken.
She preceded to push herself up and over the pillow with those strong little legs.

turning over

Yesterday Abrianna was napping on her tummy on my bed. When she woke, I went in to get her. She was no longer on her tummy but up on her side. I waited to pick her up. She finally rolled onto her back. So she was 2 1/2 months when she first turned over.
