Lately Lucas has been asking me to buy him toys when we're shopping . I've been vetoing his requests thus far. But why not use the want of toys to teach him the value of HARD work??I told him that he could EARN the money if he wanted a toy. 7:30 this morning he was out hard at work armed with a little broom and dust pan. I think he spent an hour to an hour and a half patiently cleaning all the crud out of the car port. The end results were better than I'd expected.
He was so proud of that dollar and being able to purchase the car on his own. Now, I need to work with him on the value of saving, giving, and spending.

Rick was always industrious as a kid, as I know you were. Me? I sipped lemonade watching Rick furiously race around earning money.
Now? I am essentially working two jobs, six days a week, and the past 3 weeks have put in 50 hours at my day job per week.
Where's my mud pies and boring days and nap time????
I even found my first 10 gray hairs, ALL AT ONCE, two weeks ago. And yesterday, Chris noticed them for the first time as well, and started yanking them out. Now I have to deal with balding on top of graying!!!
